How to Play Baccarat

Baccarat is a game of chance between "the player" and "the banker." You bet on any of the two hands dealt which you think will have a value closest to 9. You are always free to bet on either the banker or the player or you can choose to bet on a tie.

HOW TO PLAY:

Card Distribution:
To start with, the player and the dealer position each receive a single card. Each position then receives a second card. And then the game proceeds.
If the player card value is between 0 and 5 and the dealer card value is between 0 to 7, the player gets a third card. If the player has a card value greater than 5, then the player does not receive a third card. The dealer gets a third card if it is shows a value of 0, 1, or 2.

Baccarat Card Values:
Numeral cards 2 through 9 have the value of the number shown on the card. All face cards and tens are counted as zero, and an Ace counts as one.

Baccarat Rules:
Baccarat is played from a six-deck or an eight-deck shoe. The banker and the player each draw two cards. If either the player or banker has a total card value  8 or 9, both stand. If the player's total is 6 or 7, the player stands. If the player stands, the banker hits on a total of 5 or less. If the player's total is 5 or less, the player hits and the banker give the player a third card. If the player receives a third card then the banker draws a third card according to some rules.

Rules for Banker’s third card:
If Banker's card values totals 0, 1, 2, then banker always draws a third card. If banker's card value totals 3, then Banker draws third card only if player's third card is not 8. If Banker’s card value totals 4 then Banker draws third card only if Player’s third card is 2-3-4-5-6-7. If Banker’s card value totals 5, then Banker draws third card only if Player’s third card is 4-5-6-7.  If Banker’s card value totals 6 then Banker draws third card only if Player’s third card is 6-7. And finally if Banker’s card value totals 7, he stands.
Once the final cards are dealt, the one with the total closest to 9 wins.
