What is Baccarat

Baccarat is a very popular casino card game. There are three variants of the game: baccarat chemin de fer, baccarat banque, and punto banco. The word “baccarat” is derived from Italian and French words “zero”, which refer to the value assigned to tens and face cards.

Baccarat is also a game that is perfect for the high-class settings in which James Bond often found himself. Just like any other top online casino games, this will bring in an aristocratic mood in the comfort of your own home.

Baccarat is a very easy to play game with only three possible results—'Player', 'Banker', and 'Tie'. In a baccarat game, the main aim of the game is to come as close to nine as possible without exceeding. In this game, up to 15 players can participate and each player gets a chance to deal the cards.

The main guiding principle behind baccarat is that players may bet on the “banker”, “player” or “tie” positions. In online baccarat, two hands of two cards each are dealt on baccarat table, the banker's hand and the player's hand. You simply bet on which hand you think will have a value closer to 9.

A card total of 9 is called a "natural" and cannot lose. A card total of eight is the second-best hand. If both the player and banker have identical hands, it's a tie i.e. neither the banker nor the player wins, but whoever bet on a tie wins big.
